Yeah I saw it - coolest real effect I think I've ever seen. Cooler than any cgi!

There was one similar to it that happened in China some months back. Article & vid floating around somewhere of it.

It's been confirmed to have been a missile misfiring. Here's an article and video detailing how the effect was caused:

Heres a link to a documentary broken into 5 parts about a light phenomena thats been happening in Norway for a while now. A university even set up a monitoring station to study them. Anyone in Canada hear about this spiral? It happened a few days ago. http://www.theweatherspace.com/news/05- ... anada.html The video looks fishy to me but meh.......
