Automonous defense mechanisms?

The physical body has a developed immune and response system for identifyng and fighting off infections, diease, viruses, germs, etc

I'm just wondering if there are similar systems existing within the higher etheric and astral bodies that respond to naturally occurring threats throughout the day?

I know it has been said before that sickness can first start to be seen in the auras of a person, before the person even knows they are sick. Is it always the case that something relating to bodily health(or even say breaking a bone) manifests in the astral first before occurring in the physical?

There are definitely automated defense systems in everyone, the aura itself is actually quite good at knocking off most attacks.

Does the size of the aura have an effect on how well it protects? I remember Donna Eden I think it was talking about expanding the aura offers more protection as opposed to drawing it in and being closed off to to speak.

Debatable at best, there are advantaged and disadvantages to both.
