Among the things that were most interesting to read were the comments people posted below the article.

My take is that of course this is possible, though it could also be a hoax. It would be interesting to see the testing methods and protocols taken.

Hearing from people who have gone to India, it really is something else spiritually, and there are great saints and yogis walking about amongst it all. It's just a whole different atmosphere in the air thick with spiritual energy. I have heard some out of this world accounts from people who've gone there.

On the other hand there would also seem to be an equal abudance of fakers and those eager to make quick and easy money fooling people, like the many so called "Godmen" of India who perform feats easily explained by science or by illusion.

At this point I don't feel like I've experienced a ton, but enough as far as a sampling of abilities that I think stuff like this is absolutely possible with enough training and dedication. A matter of sensing and taking in the right mix of energies, or there are apparently other ways through yogic techniques and lengthening the tongue to reach a point upwards where drops of divine nectar comes forth that bestow bliss and take away hunger to yogis immersed in meditation. I'm not so sure such a thing is just going to happen automatically once the tongue touches that point though.

My dream actually would be able to master pranic intake and bodily heat regulation and be able to just wander the wilderness without a want or worry, meditating from place to place for a year or more :) I feel like I already have a solid lead on mastering heat generation via a particular hand mudra.

Anyway that's my long response lol. I've just been thinking a lot about details and how abilities and senses work lately.

Long replies and thoughts about "how" and "why" will never bother me. I'm the guy who's been told by my friends that I "ruin spirituality by always trying to figure it out". Or well- something like that. :D

I used to think that I could live off love. I still got hungry after I came down from the high. Holy crap is all I can say... I wish that stuff could make you smarter too, lol.

Hira Ratan Manek, the inventor of sungasing, didn't eat for more than a year subsisting only on water all that time. It was observed and documented by NASA. I agree with Athyreal, living without physical food might be possible if you tap into the right energies.

Sun gazing sounds too risky in my opinion.

There is a solar yoga I do sometimes that involves looking at the sun, but it's only for a split second opening the eyes to capture the afterimage. Otherwise if you work at visualizing going through the sun you can start to feel the energy, or at least a strong dose of the fire element.

Also, I remember my guru saying there is a gland or chakra that yogis can use to take in prana from the sun, but it's on the back of the head opposite the third eye, where the bump is.

I used to do sungasing and gave it up at reaching about 15 minutes of looking at the sun. It had absolutely no effect on me, neither physical nor spiritual, though they say changes start occuring once one has done it for just about 15 minutes. I gave it up mainly because I couldn't ground while doing it and it's supposed to be done with grounding.
